NewStar Financial Announces Pricing of Initial Public Offering
(Boston, MA - - December 13, 2006) NewStar Financial, Inc. (NASDAQ: NEWS), a commercial finance company, announced today that its initial public offering of 12,000,000 shares of its common stock priced at $17.00 per share. The net proceeds of the offering to NewStar before expenses will be approximately $190 million. In addition, NewStar has granted the underwriters an option to purchase an additional 1,800,000 shares at the initial public offering price. NewStar intends to use the net proceeds of the offering for the development and growth of its business and to repay indebtedness.
The shares will trade on the Nasdaq Global Market under the symbol "NEWS."
Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated were joint bookrunning managers on the transaction. Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and Wachovia Capital Markets, LLC were joint lead managers.
